KIKS Privacy Policy

KIKS (Kakehashi International Korean System), referred to in this document as "the Service," sets out this Privacy Policy in order to properly manage users' personal information and learning data.

By using the Service, users are deemed to have agreed to this Privacy Policy.

Article 1　Information the Service May Collect

The Service may collect the following information, to the extent necessary to provide the Service:

1. Name, nickname, gender, date of birth, nationality, and place of residence
2. Phone number, email address, Telegram account, and other contact information
3. Login ID, member ID, and account information
4. The plan selected, payment status, payment history, and payment-related information
5. Lesson progress, unlock status, practice-quiz results, assignment status, Practice Bank use, and Mock Test results
6. Video-viewing history, audio-listening history, study time, and access times
7. Level-check results, level assessment, study history, and study habits
8. Inquiry content and support history
9. Device used, browser, IP address, access history, and cookies
10. Other information necessary to provide the Service, improve the Service, and prevent unlawful use

Article 2　Purpose of Using Information

The Service uses the information it collects for the following purposes:

1. Providing, operating, and maintaining the Service
2. Registering members, verifying identity, and managing account access
3. Managing plans, confirming payment, and confirming usage rights
4. Managing lesson progress, lesson unlocking, practice quizzes, assignments, and study history
5. Showing users their study status and progress
6. Responding to inquiries and providing support
7. Resolving system issues, video-playback issues, audio-playback issues, and payment issues
8. Preventing unlawful use, account sharing, unauthorized re-posting of content, and other prohibited acts
9. Improving lessons, the curriculum, the UI, and overall service quality
10. Analyzing study habits and producing statistical data
11. Notifying users of important information, changes to the Terms, and changes to the Service
12. Responding to legal requirements or requests from a competent authority

Article 3　Handling of Learning Data

The Service may collect and store learning data such as lesson progress, practice-quiz results, assignment status, video-viewing status, level-check results, study time, unlocked lessons, and scores.

This data is used to:

1. Show progress to the user
2. Determine whether the next lesson can be unlocked
3. Review study status
4. Improve the learning experience
5. Improve lessons
6. Prevent unlawful use
7. Respond to support requests

Data that cannot identify an individual may be used to improve the Service, improve lessons, analyze operations, and produce explanatory materials.

Article 4　Handling of Payment Information

The Service may check a user's payment status, payment history, plan information, and payment results.

Sensitive information such as credit card numbers, bank account information, or payment-service credentials is generally handled by the payment-service provider itself. The Service only handles the information necessary to confirm payment results and usage rights.

Handling of information by a payment service follows that provider's own terms and privacy policy.

Article 5　Use of External Services

The Service may use the following external services:

1. Vimeo
2. Google services
3. Telegram
4. WordPress
5. MemberPress
6. LearnDash
7. Payment services
8. Other external services necessary for operations

When an external service is used, part of a user's information may be processed by that external service.

Handling of information within an external service follows that service's own terms of use and privacy policy.

Article 6　Cookies and Access Analytics

The Service may use cookies, localStorage, and access history to maintain login status, save study progress, improve the display, prevent unlawful use, and analyze access patterns.

Users may disable cookies through their browser settings. However, if cookies are disabled, some features of the Service may not work correctly.

Article 7　Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

The Service does not disclose users' personal information to third parties, except in the following cases:

1. The user has given consent
2. Disclosure is necessary to provide the Service, through an external service or a party entrusted with a task
3. Disclosure is necessary for payment, identity verification, support, or system operations
4. Disclosure is required by law
5. There is a valid request from a court, police, or other competent authority
6. Disclosure is necessary to respond to unlawful use, copyright infringement, or other unlawful acts
7. Disclosure is necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property

Article 8　Outsourcing of Data Handling

The Service may outsource part of its operations — such as service operations, payment, video distribution, sending email, data storage, responding to inquiries, and system maintenance — to external providers.

In such cases, the Service will make reasonable efforts to properly oversee the party to whom the task is entrusted.

Article 9　Data Retention Period

The Service retains a user's information for as long as necessary for the purposes of use.

Even after a user withdraws their membership or stops using the Service, the Service may retain certain information for a defined period for the following purposes:

1. Reviewing payment history
2. Preventing unlawful use
3. Resolving disputes
4. Retaining records required by law
5. Reviewing information necessary for operations

Information that is no longer necessary will be deleted or de-identified within a reasonable scope.

Article 10　Security Management

The Service makes reasonable efforts to implement appropriate security measures to prevent leakage, loss, alteration, or unauthorized access to personal information and learning data.

However, the Service does not guarantee complete security against issues arising from internet communications, external services, or a user's own device environment.

Article 11　Users' Own Handling of Their Information

Users are personally responsible for managing their own login information, password, device, and internet environment.

The following actions are prohibited:

1. Sharing account information
2. Giving a password to another person
3. Leaving an account logged in on another person's device
4. Using another person's account
5. Accessing or using the Service unlawfully

The Service is not liable for damages arising from a user's own improper handling of their information.

Article 12　Requests to Access, Correct, or Delete Information

Users may contact the Service through its designated contact channel to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a stop to the use of their own personal information.

The Service will verify the identity of the requester and respond within a reasonable scope.

However, some information cannot be deleted or have its use stopped, due to legal requirements or operational necessity.

Article 13　Use by Minors

If a minor uses the Service, prior consent must be obtained from a parent or legal guardian.

The Service may treat the necessary consent as having been obtained at the time of registration or payment.

Article 14　Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Service may change this Privacy Policy as needed.

An amended policy takes effect from the time it is published on the Service, or from a time separately specified by the Service.

If a user continues to use the Service after this Privacy Policy has been amended, the user is deemed to have agreed to the amended policy.

Article 15　Inquiries

Questions regarding this Privacy Policy should be directed through the contact channel specified by the Service.
